Alex Trebek 'On the Mend' & Back At Work After Chemotherapy
“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek said Thursday that he has finished his chemotherapy treatments for pancreatic cancer and is back at work for the show's 36th season.
“It’s another day at the office, and an exciting day because so many great things have been happening,” Trebek said in a video to fans of the show.
“I’ve gone through a lot of chemotherapy. Thankfully, that is now over. I’m on the mend and that’s all I can hope for right now.”
The popular quiz show is back in production, with new episodes hitting local TV stations on Sept. 9.
Trebek announced his cancer diagnosis on-air in March.
“Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer,” he said at the time.
He continued to tape episodes for the show's 35th season after revealing the diagnosis.
