Idaho Girl's Cupcake Stand Helps the Homeless
By Wynt.com
BOISE, Idaho - Summertime lemonade and sweet stands are nothing new, but one little girl in Boise, Idaho is putting a philanthropic twist on the American pastime.
Since the start of summer, Bentlee Martinez has been running BAM's Bakery shop in her front yard. The delicious creations are prepared by Martinez herself each night, in preparation for the next day's customers.
Bentlee started her stand to raise money for her family of seven to take a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. However, her mission quickly changed when Bentlee saw a homeless couple sleeping in an alleyway.
Realizing how much she had, Bentlee knew she wanted to help. All of the money collected from her bakery shop is now being donated to Boise's homeless population.
Her sweet idea is making an even sweeter impact on her community.
